About Chris
I’m from Manchester, England.
I am a computer professional specialising in Microsoft technologies and focus mainly on the web. I have been programming commercially since 2000 and currently work for a web design and marketing firm.
I specialise in ASP.NET (1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0 & 3.5), Javascript/AJAX (Web 2.0), CSS, SQL Server 2000/2005/2008, T-SQL, XML, ASP 3.0, HTML, OO techniques/design and application architecture.
Out of work I am a Scout Leader with 1st Ashton Scouts. My work as a Scout Leader also leads out into the Wigan District where I organise two large events every year and keep the Wigan Scouts website ticking. Scouting is an ongoing challenge where the demanding needs of todays young people need to be meet alongside the ever increasing democratic ‘red-tape’.
In my own time I love to get out into the great outdoors. I am a keen mountaineer and rock climber, pursuits which frequently me into the Snowdonia National Park, Wales and the Lake District National Park, England. I also love to travel and see new places. A recent trip to Patagonia, Chile was the best of my life where we set eyes on massive glaciers, green lakes and near total wilderness.
I frequently camp, hill walk and take parties of lesser-experienced walkers into the hills.
